Here is the article in the Associated Press.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — An Alice woman is returning to prison over a second adoption scam while on supervised release from the first one.
A federal judge in Corpus Christi on Tuesday sentenced Belinda Ramirez to 6 1/2 years in prison.
Ramirez was arrested May 21 at a motel in Beeville. She later pleaded guilty to mail and wire fraud.
Prosecutors say Ramirez tricked a Fresno, Calif., couple into wiring her $800 to help pay for her care while she falsely claimed to be pregnant and offered the child for adoption.
Ramirez in early 2007 was sentenced to two years in prison for wire and mail fraud.
U.S. District Judge Janis Graham sentenced Ramirez to 30 months on each of the two latest counts, to be served concurrently.
The judge sentenced Ramirez to 24 months on each of the two original convictions, for mail and wire fraud, to be served consecutively.
