ADOPTION REFORM

As this begins a new year, I have made it my mission to change the laws as they stand in this country. I speak for myself and the thousands if not millions of others. We will change the laws.

When Rashad can not get custody of his son, when Stephanie Bennett's high school counselor doesn't notify her parents that she is pregnant and instead gives her "help" by telling her to run away from home, and when a mother has to spend thousands of dollars to get her children back, we as country need to change things. When it is an adoption agency's motto to get compliance in order to follow through with the adoption plan, we need to change things. The only way that we as group are going to change things is for our state legislators to hear us. We have to present the facts. Leave the reunions for us to sort through. All non adopted individuals have this right. We should have it as well. We do not need governmental interference.

When we ask for our medical history, we are violating the medical privacy laws of this country. We are taking the blame that adoption agencies and attorneys must face and placing the blame on our parents. Adoption agencies must face what they did to our parents. I have heard from countless women that adoption agencies do in fact fear this repercussion. Our birth certificates and the adoption records themselves is what we want access to.

When 90-99% of first parents do in fact want contact with us, the state legislators must start listening to us. The Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute proved this. The statistics coming out of Oregon also prove this. When groups like OriginsUSA and Concerned United Birthparents voice this over and over, why aren't they listening to us? When a majority of Americans feel that adoptees should have access to their records, why aren't our state legislators listening? When Bastard Nation, Chosen Babies, American Adoption Congress

The laws in this country must change. Adoptees, first parents, and adoptive parents are slaves bought and paid for by the adoption agencies and attorneys. Do you really think these folks care about us? We are the dollar sign that walks in their door.

FOLKS ~ LETS CHANGE THE LAWS. LETS FIGHT BACK. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS WRITE YOUR STATE LEGISLATORS AND GOVERNORS. TELL THEM THAT WHAT THEY ARE DOING TO THOSE IN THE TRIAD IS WRONG. LETS CHANGE THIS BACK INTO A TRIAD INSTEAD OF THE FIVE LEGGED STOOL IT HAS BECOME. DON'T LET THE ADOPTION AGENCIES CONTROL US ANY LONGER.
