HEARTLAND

I admit that I am a sucker for medical shows and crime drama shows. The recent episode of Heartland on TNT covered an interesting topic. Uterus transplants. I covered that earlier in another post. One of the main characters is, of course, is an adoptive dad. He tells how his wife suffered with knowledge that she will never be able to have children. Here I am thinking. Dude, she should have already dealt with this. That is a great deal to put on three children. So this character asks the other lead character if he will ever have his approval. OH MY GOSH. Of course he says that he and his wife loves his kids. Here is the proverbial but. This is so wrong. Just so wrong. He actually goes through the transplant. This is so ewwwwwwwwwww.

when close friends and relatives announce their plans to adopt children, that is when it is hardest to speak out. But that is when it needs to be said...adoption causes pain. At that point, the topic is no longer theoretical.

The same is true when a family member or friend states plans to surrender a baby. This will cause life-long pain.this is when we have to say something.

don't be fooled by 'promises of open adoption". don't think that it will be 'different' this time...it won't be..

Oh lord, why does the media have such a horrendous view of infertility and adoption?

Always with the dumb angles and headlines...sigh...
