Why are some adoptees so quick to accept a contact veto or disclosure veto? Why do we allow the legislators to think that the mothers were promised confidentiality usually with the promise of criminal charges? Oh I can not stand those who settle yet I have a person within my own group that is willing to accept that kind of bill. I don't know what to do.
Currently the laws in 44 states are horrible to adoptees and many natural mothers. They treat us mere chattel to the adoption agencies. We are the product and producer who they believe should shut up and not complain. They tell us we should be grateful.
Well I am not good at being grateful. I am not happy with the status quo in America right now. I am sick of the discrimination that adoptees face every day.

It's because they can imagine themselves in the plight of the mythical "birth mother" who wanted to keep the whole shameful mess a secret, but they can't imagine how it would feel to be adopted.
That's how alien we are, how unthinkable our situation is. We need to shut up, be grateful and "leave that poor woman alone" because we are freaks people would really rather not think about once we grow out of being cute and have served our purpose in life.

We need to find a way to sue them for this Birth Mother Privacy Lie. Fight fire with fire. Play hardball. Trying to appeal to the consciences they DON'T have isn't going to work. I'm sick of trying to get the devil to be nice....
