Gladney has certainly been in the news lately. They have sent volunteers to Guatemala to help get food to the orphans. They are also probably making sure that Guatemalan adoptees will be directed to them when they do open Guatemala back up. It really irritates me when they say they are looking out for the best interests of the child when in fact, they are looking out for their own best interests.

They even have an announcement for all Commonwealth Adoptions International for the adoptive parents. Adoptive parents need to beware. I would not be a bit surprised if they charge additionally on top of what these parents have already paid.

Now they have introduced a new marketing plan to target natural mothers and adoptive parents. Many times the Gladney Center has said that they offer open adoptions. They don't. They only practice closed adoptions. You have to register through their registry in order to make contact with your child or your natural parent. They control the reunion all the way around. The post adoption services are not there to support you or your child during reunion. They honestly believe that natural parents should just go away and not ever come back. They believe that the adoptee should not have any kind of access to his/her past including non identifying information.

They are just hurting more folks as time goes forth.
