Thank goodness, National Adoption Bewareness is finally over. The Happy Dappy stories are done. Now to get to the real business of contacting legislators and asking for change in adoption laws around the country. It looks like Florida will be hopefully ending their gay adoption ban. I hope in the future than many of these other states will be ending theirs as well.
News is also that international adoption is slowing down in its numbers as well. I think more and more adoptive parents are beginning to educate themselves on the pitfalls of adoption. The economy has a big effect as no one has any money. Many of the adoptive parents are wanting hopefully to deal with corruption and greed that is sometimes problematic in international adoption.
I find that many of these international adoptees are beginning to speak out against the problems in it. Hopefully adoptive parents are listening.
